Sinking in the Gulf of Mexico

What happened?

My friend and I were offshore fishing 40mi. out in the Gulf, and we were killing it. We had a cooler full of fish, when my buddy noticed the boat was taking on water. We tried to bail out water, but that was useless. It took on so much water so quickly that we didn’t stand a chance, and the boat rolled over. That’s when I triggered the PLB. We were in the water roughly fifteen min. when a spotter plane found us. We waited another 30 min. before the Coast Guard picked us up.

Words of wisdom

Never leave shore without one of these beacons.
