ACR Electronics, a global leader in safety and survival technologies, is pleased to announce the signing of a significant contract with Canada’s largest airline to provide cutting-edge Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) Distress Tracking Emergency Locator Transmitters (ELTs) from ARTEX.
ACR Electronics will equip the airline’s fleet with the ARTEX ELT 5000 Distress Tracking (DT) system, ensuring compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) 2023 GADSS initiative. The ARTEX ELT 5000 (DT) represents a state-of-the-art emergency locator transmitter designed to enhance safety measures for passengers and crew members.
“We are thrilled to partner with Canada’s largest airline to enhance their safety capabilities with our advanced GADSS Distress Tracking ELTs,” said Jeff Geraci, Vice President and General Manager for ARTEX. “With Transport Canada formally adopting GADSS as a requirement, this collaboration will provide early compliance and an important safety enhancement.”
Developed by ACR Electronics, the ARTEX ELT 5000 (DT) integrates in-flight tracking and post-flight localization capabilities into a single crash-resistant unit, ensuring prompt response times during emergencies. Leveraging the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite network, the ELT 5000 (DT) automatically transmits distress messages along with the aircraft’s precise location in real-time, facilitating efficient monitoring and assistance.
The partnership between ACR Electronics and Canada’s largest airline marks a significant milestone in advancing aviation safety standards and initiatives. For more information about ACR Electronics and its range of safety and survival solutions, visit www.acrartex.com.
