What happened?
On Saturday, May 11th, 2019 me and 4 of my friends went on a fishing trip out of Hatteras Inlet. We were trolling 22 miles from the inlet when the boat cut off and we lost all electrical power. We checked all wires and fuses, and everything appeared to be in order. We tried flagging down a charter boat that was near with smokers and flares. They didn’t not see our signs signs of distress. At that point we decided to activate the Globalfix V4 EPIRB. Within 30 minutes activation coast guard air craft had located us and radioed the charter boat over to assist. The aircraft dropped a survival kit with a marine radio so we were able to communicate with the coast guard. Approximately 2 hours later a life motor boat arrived and towed us back to shore.
Words of wisdom
But an EPIRB, They are worth every penny you never know when something could go wrong.
Thank you note
I want to say how thankful I am for this product. It saved my life, as well as 4 of my close friends on Saturday, May 11, 2019 after my boat lost all electrical power. We were approximately 22 miles off the coast of North Carolina with no other way to communicate that we were in distress. Once we activated the EPIRB the Coast Guard sent a plane to us and it was over us within 40 minutes to assist and radio in boat to tow us to shore. I am grateful I was able to depend on this product. Thank you again.
